Biography
Born 1947, I worked in the family garage business until 2004. I have always had an interest in art, particularly sculpture. After retiring from the business I studied marble carving in the Arco Arte studios, Carrara, Italy. I am now working full time in a studio which I share with my wife Angela.
I have exhibited regularly in the Royal Glasgow Institute and Visual Arts Scotland annual exhibitions as well as the Royal Scottish Academy; my work has been regularly shown in Compass Gallery, Glasgow, Jerdan Gallery, Crail and several public open-air exhibitions. I have pieces in private collections both in the UK and USA.
In 2001 I was one of the artists chosen to participate in the 'Waymerks' project in which sculptural pieces were installed along the length of the Southern Upland Way between Cockburnspath on the east coast and Portpatrick on the west coast of Southern Scotland.
I was in the organising committee and participated in two 'CLACH' international stone carving symposia with the Scottish Stone Sculpture Association.
I have been an active committee member of the 'Borders Sculptors' sculpture group, serving two and a half years as Chairman.
